Harrisville honors Board of Education during state recognition week

The Harrisville Central School District is proud to observe School Board Recognition Week, from October 13-17.

This annual event, recognized by the New York State School Boards Association, is a time to promote awareness and appreciation for the essential work performed by our Board of Education. Public schools are the bedrock of our communities, and it is our school board members who are ultimately responsible for guiding our district and ensuring the success of every student.

These seven community volunteers make tough decisions every month, studying complex education issues and regulations to provide the kind of accountability our stakeholders expect. Their key work includes setting the district’s vision and goals, aligning resources, ensuring accountability for student achievement and supporting a healthy school culture. This is a year-round commitment that gives Harrisville residents a direct voice in education.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated individuals who volunteer their time and expertise to serve on the Harrisville Central School District Board of Education. Please join us in thanking the following members for their service to our students and community:

  • Mr. Cory Bearor, President
  • Heidi McIntosh, Vice President
  • Parish Atkinson
  • Denise Avallone
  • Kathy Felio
  • Tennille Schmitt
  • Brian Schrodt
