
The Harrisville Central School District is proud to announce the valedictorian, salutatorian and top vocational award for the graduating Class of 2025.
Valedictorian
Isabel Miller
Isabel Miller, daughter of Michael and Erin Miller, of Harrisville, has earned the highest academic award of valedictorian for the class of 2025. Isabel will be attending SUNY Canton during the fall semester. She has committed to entering as an undeclared major so she can experience a variety of career fields.
Isabel’s academic grade point average for seven semesters is 98.15 and she will receive a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation at graduation in June. Isabel has received 21 dual enrollment credits through a variety of institutions, including North Country Community College, Jefferson Community College and SUNY Canton.
Isabel has been active in many school groups and sports. She is a former member of the National Junior Honor Society and is currently a member of the Bonaparte Chapter of the National Honor Society. She has been a member of the High School Chorus and Band, Girls Varsity Soccer, Basketball and Softball Teams for all four years of her high school career. She is an active member of the school’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC), BackPack Program and Art Club. Izzy is also the president of Music Club and treasurer of the Senior Class.
Isabel’s favorite activity in high school has been attending the variety of art classes HCS has to offer. Isabel said she comes from a creative family who loves making things with their hands, she feels as though she inherited this talent and interest from them.
“It’s amazing to see how creativity is passed down and continues to evolve in our family,” Isabel said.
With a growing portfolio of her own work, Isabel hopes to further hone her skills and continue this hobby despite whatever career she chooses to pursue.

Isabel also received numerous awards for her artwork during her high school career, including the Silver Key Award for her art piece “Awaken” and the Judge’s Choice Award at the Tri-County Art Show for her art piece “Why Me?”
Isabel’s advice to future HCS students: “Stay determined and be true to yourself!”
Salutatorian
Aiden Chartrand
Aiden Chartrand, son of Anthony and Sonja Chartrand, of Harrisville, has earned the second highest academic award of salutatorian for the class of 2025. Aiden has been accepted to a variety of prestigious universities including SUNY Brockport, SUNY Plattsburgh, SUNY Canton, Jefferson Community College, St. Bonaventure University and LeMoyne College. Aiden intends on studying Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at SUNY Oneonta. He will also be playing baseball for the Red Dragons!
At graduation, Aiden will receive an Advanced Regents Diploma with Mastery in Science. Aiden’s seven semester academic average is 98.07. He will have a total of 36 dual enrollment credits which he obtained through North Country Community College, Jefferson Community College, Hudson Valley Community College, SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam.
Aiden has always been active in a variety of school extracurriculars. He is currently the vice president of the district’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC), BackPack program, National Honor Society and the Senior Class. Aiden said his most meaningful extracurricular activity was being a part of YAC.
“It was amazing to see the impact it made on my local community,” he said.

He also received a variety of sports honors during his high school career, including First Team All-Northern in baseball and Second Team All-Northern in basketball during his sophomore and junior seasons. He was also designated Section X Most Valuable Player for baseball during his junior year. This year, Aiden received First Team All-Northern in basketball for the winter sports season.
Aiden’s advice for students of HCS: “Don’t rush it, it goes by a lot quicker than you think!”
Top Vocational Award
Madison Kackison
Madison Kackison, daughter of Jessica and Kyle Kobylanski, of Harrisville, and Gregory Kackison, of Harrisville, has earned the Top Vocational Award for a senior in a vocational program for the class of 2025.
Madison has an overall GPA of 87.92 and will receive a Regents Diploma in June. Madison has been accepted into a variety of colleges and universities. She plans to attend SUNY Potsdam in the fall to study Art Education.
Madison currently attends St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES Southwest Career & Technical Education Center in Fowler for the Pharmacy Technician program. Last year, she also attended the tech center for the Certified Nursing Assistant program. Madison said she has learned the importance of teamwork within a work setting, especially during her clinical work at Clifton Fine Hospital and Maplewood Health Care Center.
Madison is currently an active member of the school’s Varsity Softball team. She has also been honored as a member of National Honor Society and recipient of the Bonnie Scholarship Award through St. Bonaventure University. She was also named Student of the Month at Southwest Tech for the month of March in 2024.
Advice that Madison would like to share with future HCS students: “Opportunities don’t happen, you create them!”
