Meal prices and payment information

Starting Nov. 1, 2023, breakfast and lunch are FREE for all students for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.

This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students.

Effective Nov. 1, 2023, all students enrolled at Harrisville Central School will receive meals at no cost. No further action is required of district families.

If families have any questions, they are asked to contact Christine Bristol, Cafeteria Manager, at (315) 543-2707.

Harrisville Central School utilizes a convenient and secure online prepayment service to deposit money into your child’s school meal account. This service also provides parents the ability to view your child’s account balance through a web site called www.MySchoolBucks.com. To access these services, you will need create your account and add money to your child’s school meal account. Information for creating this account can be found on the www.MySchoolBucks.com website or by contacting Christine Bristol, Food Services Manager, at (315) 543-2707.

Free and Reduced-Price Meals

Children from households that meet federal income guidelines are eligible for free meals or reduced price meals.  Reduced price meals are free for eligible student, for both breakfast and lunch. Each eligible student is entitled to one breakfast and one lunch per day. Families can apply for free/reduced meal benefits at any time during the school year. Meal Charge Policy

In accordance with federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.

Program information may be made available in languages other than English.  Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication to obtain program information (e.g., Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language), should contact the responsible state or local agency that administers the program or USDA’s TARGET Center at 202-720-2600 (voice and TTY) or contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at 800-877-8339.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form AD-3027 available on the USAD.gov website.

The USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form AD-3027 may also be obtained at any USDA office, by calling 866-632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA.  The letter must contact the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.  The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:

Prohibition Against Meal Shaming

It is the district’s goal to provide students with access to nutritious no-cost or low-cost meals each school day and to ensure that a student whose parent/guardian has unpaid meal charges is not shamed or treated differently than a student whose parent/guardian does not have unpaid meal charges.
