SUMMER SCHOOL - Any student who fails a required course should seriously consider attending summer school this summer.  Because of graduation requirements, it is extremely difficult to avoid scheduling conflicts, an overload of classes or an additional year of high school if you do not go to summer school for a failed course.  The policy is as follows:

A student must have passed two quarters of work in Harrisville and the summer session OR attain an average grade that is passing when two thirds of the Harrisville’s final grade is averaged with one third of the summer school grade.

Gouverneur Central School plans on providing a variety of summer school course offerings.  The cost this year is $50.00 for one course, $95.00 for two courses and $130 for three courses.  Harrisville C.S. will provide transportation. 

Parents/students may fill out registration information for Gouverneur summer school in the guidance office at Harrisville.  These are the following dates for summer school registration:

Please call the office if you need to make special arrangements to register your son or daughter for summer school.

Full-credit courses are offered at Carthage C.S. and Watertown C.S.  These deadlines are early and students who have failed a course all year who wish to take a full credit course in summer school should stop in the guidance office as soon as possible.  Mrs. Tyler has registration forms for summer school at Carthage and Watertown and students must receive approval from administration to attend these programs.
